Assignments
All assignments due on last day of class
Create a print reference collection for your library. You will need to include at least 6 reference sources. Consider what will be of the greatest value for teachers or patrons at your library (or at your imagined library.) Work singly. Each item listed should include:
a.
Complete
bibliographic citation in the APA or MLA format.
b. Description/annotation that includes some of the criteria for evaluating sources we have learned in the other classes.
c.
Explanation as to why this is a reference source and not a general library
material.
Students, working in pairs, will develop a grade level specific project, aligned to an academic content standard that will include the following parts:
Pose a question
Create a scenario
Develop the task
Describe the product
Develop an evaluation guide (rubric)
Gather information - minimum 5 Internet and 5 print resources.
Conclusion
Working with a group of up to four, develop one program that would convey the importance of literature to students, the community, and or the staff. You need to include:
Title
Purpose
Audience
Program
Projected
Budget
Staffing
Materials
needed
Publicity
Etc.
Create a newsletter for
your library. If you do not have one, pretend. May be on-line or print. Work
singly.
V. Grant Writing
Write a grant for your
library. Submit it. Recommended: The Governor's Book Fund, LSTA
This is due to be finished.
We will want to look at it in its glorious entirety.
Please include any reference procedures you gain from this class.
